What is the end point of the training programme?
The end point of GP specialty training is the nMRCGP exam which
consists of 3 components – the Applied Knowledge Test (AKT), the Clinical
Skills Assessment (CSA) and Work Place Based Assessment. (WPBA). More
details of the examination can be found on the RCGP website
www.rcgp.org.uk
Once you have successfully completed your training, you may apply to
PMETB for a certificate which will allow you to work independently as a
GP.
If all of your GP training was undertaken in the UK as part of a GP
specialty training programme, you can apply for Certificate of Completion
of Training. (GPCCT)
However, if any part of your training was undertaken outside of a GP
specialty training programme, including posts that were retrospectively
approved for GP training, you have to apply for a CEGPR through Article
11.
See PMETB web
site for more information regarding certification.
