Scotland
Scotland is a vast and diverse Deanery. We can offer you an
abundance of challenges and opportunities including remote and rural
training, which develops a wider variety of clinical skills. And
urban training, which brings experience of social and health
problems associated with areas of affluence and poverty.
Training as a GP in Scotland means that no one day is the same….
Within Scotland there are four distinct Deaneries, East,
North, South East and West. Each Deanery offers you different
opportunities and lifestyles so you can really tailor your training
to suit you.
Scotland has consistently had a high success rate in the MRCGP
examination and is highly rated by trainees in the GMC survey. Our
trainers are experienced, committed and dedicated to helping you get
the most out of your time with us.
Scotland offers bustling cosmopolitan cities boasting extensive
shopping, culture and nightlife; spectacular mountain scenery
offering world class sports such as mountain biking, climbing, hill
walking and skiing. We have a coastline longer than the rest of the
UK put together which as well as fantastic views can offer great
sailing, surfing and kayaking. Scotland has an extensive transport
system including local buses, national railways and international
airports; living in Scotland gives you excellent access to London,
the rest of the UK and beyond.
There is so much to see and do in Scotland; we can offer the
urban or the country lifestyles and even a mixture of both, wherever
you go you will never be far from the breathtaking scenery of the
Scottish countryside. It would be difficult to find any other part
of the UK that has as much to offer as Scotland.
Scotland remains to be one of the most exciting places to train
in the UK. We look forward to welcoming you and we are sure you will
want to stay!
